Learn how to program using Java programming language and Java’s object-oriented concepts in this free online course.

Publisher: SimonSezIT
This free online course will teach you basic Java programming skills and the tools needed to start using Java. You will be shown basic syntax, data types, operators in Java and how we can use them. Also, you will be taught conditionals and control flow in Java programs and how you can build lists of data with Java arrays and ArrayLists. Furthermore, you will learn about Object-oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and inheritance in Java.

Java is one of the most popular programming languages out there, mainly because of how versatile and compatible it is. Java can be used for a wide range of purposes, including software development, mobile applications and large systems development. This course will teach you the fundamentals of Java programming. You will learn about Java design principles and rules for writing Java. The Java Runtime Environment, or JRE, is a software layer that runs on a computer's operating system software and provides the class libraries and other resources that a specific Java program needs to run with. You will be shown how to install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and how to set up the Java Development Kit (JDK). The Java Development Kit (JDK) is a software development environment used for developing Java applications and applets. Furthermore, you will learn about the requirements for Java Development Kit (JDK) and you will also learn about the editor used for writing code.

The syntax of a programming language is the set of rules that defines the combinations of symbols that are considered to be correctly structured statements or expressions in that language. In this course, you will be introduced to Java syntax and keywords. You will learn about Java syntax rules and how they can be implemented.  This will include the Java conditional operator, which selects one of two expressions for evaluation and is based on the value of the first operands. It is also called a ternary operator because it takes three arguments. The conditional operator is used to handle simple situations in a line. You will be shown conditional statements, how to use them and the concept of control structures in Java programming. Also, learners will gain an understanding of how to develop a naming condition to ensure consistency while coding. You will be taught Java command line arguments, Java string manipulation, data types, Java variables and Java operators.

Do you know how to use OOD to reduce the development time of your next software project? Object-Oriented Development (OOD) has been recognized as the next major breakthrough in software engineering. It promises to reduce development time, reduce the time and resources needed to maintain existing applications, increase code reuse and provide a competitive advantage to anyone that uses it. This course will teach you the concept of Object-Oriented Development and how to write procedures that perform operations on data. You will be shown the functions defined for a class and the concept of inheritance in Java programming. An interface in the Java programming language is an abstract type that is used to specify a behaviour that classes must implement. They are similar to protocols. This course will show you how to use the Java interface to achieve what is known as ‘polymorphism’. This course is suitable for beginners and you only need to have a basic fluency with computers. More so, this course is important for learners who want to have the knowledge and skill of Java programming.
