Nkosinathi Nkosi, based in South Africa, is a self-driven and innovative leader with a fervent passion for community development. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Extension and Rural Resource Management from the School of Agriculture, Earth, and Environmental Sciences at the University of KwaZulu Natal. Nkosi has been a trailblazer in the field of worm farming since 2017. His journey began with a comprehensive worm farming and waste management training organized by his former employer, African Greeneurs Pty (Ltd), where he served as a farm manager overseeing a two-hectare farm producing various vegetables, including turmeric, tomatoes, and bell peppers. Under Nkosi's leadership, the farm flourished, delivering high-quality crops sought after by major supermarkets in Pretoria.

Nkosi's expertise lies in optimizing soil quality for enhanced crop production. Differentiating his approach, he plants directly in the soil within tunnels, capitalizing on the natural nutrients present in the earth. Nkosi delved deeper into worm farming, uncovering its economic benefits for commercial agriculture on recognizing the scarcity of worm compost for commercial farming during his quest to expand bell pepper production. Through his various companies, he has trained over 300 students, transforming individuals into skilled worm farmers. In addition, he has authored a book titled "Vermitechnology of Africa," solidifying his authority in the field.

Nkosi is dedicated to equipping individuals and businesses with the knowledge and resources needed for successful worm farming practices. He offers a range of services including short courses, onsite training, technical consultation, and farm setups. Nkosi is committed to contributing to the growth of sustainable and economically viable worm farming practices in South Africa and beyond by leveraging his practical experience. His commitment is evident in his diverse experiences, including representing South African youth at the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture held in Abu Dhabi in March 2017. These experiences reflect Nkosi's dedication to driving positive change and contributing to the development of local communities and the agricultural sector.
