Sola Togun-Butler is the CEO of Butterfly Counseling Services. She is also the associate chairperson and assistant professor in the Human Services Department at St Joseph’s College. Sola was born in Nigeria and at the age of 12, immigrated to the United States of America with her immediate family. Her commitment to social justice played a vital role in her decision to pursue a Master’s degree in social work. She believes that all people should have access to the resources they need to function at their optimal level. Therefore, she established the Victoria Ibironke Scholarship Fund to provided educational opportunities to young girls and women in developing countries.

Sola’s area of expertise is mental health and higher education. She is a firm believer in the importance of mental health and challenging the stigma associated with receiving mental health services. In addition, she believes in engaging her students in the learning process and the accessibility of online courses. Her passion for education played a major role in her desire to pursue a doctorate in education.

Sola’s courses aim to instruct students on how to improve their relationships by using effective communication techniques and the importance of taking care of their mental health.
