Alison Launches ‘Everyday Money UK’ Pilot, Invites Credit Unions and Building Societies to Join as Founding Ambassadors

Friday, 4th September 2026

GALWAY, IRELAND - 2026-09-XX

Off the back of a successful launch in the Republic of Ireland, Irish EdTech social enterprise Alison extends its "Financial Literacy as a Service" initiative to the UK, with a 3-month pilot programme.

Alison, one of the world’s largest online empowerment platforms, has officially opened applications for the pilot of Everyday Money UK (EMUK). Following the successful rollout of its sister initiative in Ireland, Alison is now seeking Credit Unions, Building Societies, and other socially-mandated financial institutions across the UK to sign up as founding EMUK Ambassadors for a 3 – 6 month pilot programme.

Financial illiteracy remains a growing crisis across the UK. According to the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Financial Lives Survey, 6.5 million UK adults have low financial capability, with 92% reporting negative impacts on their daily lives – including severe money-related stress and delayed financial decisions. Furthermore, nearly 10 million UK adults struggle with basic financial numeracy, and 1 in 10 have no emergency savings.

EMUK directly addresses this challenge by providing a first-of-its-kind, digital "Financial Literacy as a Service" framework. Through the pilot, participating EMUK Ambassadors will be equipped with a tailored suite of free, self-paced, CPD UK-accredited online courses to distribute directly to their members, local schools, charities, councils, and community groups. Designed for mobile and desktop, the digital platform complements in-person community outreach and includes real-time analytics to track local learning engagement, completions, and social impact.

The EMUK Pilot Curriculum Includes:

  • Credit and Debt Management

  • Budgeting and Money Management

  • Phishing, Scams and Fraud Awareness

  • Saving, Investing and Financial Goal Setting

Olivia Cosgrove, Head of Government Solutions, Social Impact & Strategic Projects at Alison, commented:

"Credit Unions and Building Societies hold an unmatched level of trust within their local communities. By partnering with these purpose-driven institutions, Everyday Money UK provides the infrastructure to deliver free, high-quality financial education right where it is needed most. No single solution to financial illiteracy currently exists in the UK – EMUK is the shared solution to this shared problem, empowering individuals with the confidence and skills to achieve long-term financial resilience."

The pilot will evaluate real-world engagement over 3 to 6 months, giving community financial leaders a turn-key solution to fulfill their social mandates and build stronger, financially resilient communities.
