Ad Operations Manager

As Ad Operations Specialist, you will develop and optimize our on-site advertising operations and revenue.

You will optimise our on-site advertising operations (currently based around Google Ad Manager (GAM)). You will implement, test and analyse various price floor optimization techniques. You will use the tools and technical capabilities available to you to constantly optimise our on-site advertising and improve our return. You will report your results to your stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

You will work together with our Tech Department and colleagues within the Marketing Department to expand our on-site ad offering, potentially expanding into affiliate marketing. You will work together with our Platform team to optimize ad placement - in order to maximize ad revenue without compromising our user experience. You should have extensive experience in the technical implementation of on-site advertising, specifically Google Ad Manager. You should have experience in optimizing on-site advertising revenue, up to and including working with affiliate marketing networks, reaching out to marketing agencies and individual advertisers for on-site advertising campaigns.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, creative, and organized growth marketer who is able to jump in, work independently and make an immediate impact. You should have good troubleshooting skills and a strong attention to detail. We need someone with the ability to work independently and a desire to constantly improve. In short; we need someone who never sits still.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Tech Department to implement optimization of ad placement.
  • Manage all aspects of ad operations including campaign trafficking, tagging, troubleshooting, optimizations, and reporting
  • Continuously improve operational processes, tooling, and documentation to streamline and improve the effectiveness of day-to-day operational activities
  • Develop eco-system from advertisement demand side, including advertisement agencies and affiliate marketing networks.
  • Monetize inventory and drive total advertisement revenue growth.
  • Reporting: advertiser report, weekly internal report, etc., looking to the main metrics involved: CPM, CPC, CTR, etc. Calculate ROI and other parameters.
  • Manage the monthly billing reconciliation process working with Finance, and Data teams
  • Participate as a key digital advertising subject matter expert in business planning and AdTech roadmap discussions.

Essential Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, or equivalent work experience
  • 4-5 years’ experience as an Ad Operations Specialist.
  • Proven working experience trafficking ads for desktop and mobile formats.
  • Extensive experience with Google Ad Manager specifically and the Google suite of products in general.
  • Experience working with Affiliate Marketing networks
  • Intimate knowledge of Google Analytics; its capabilities as well as its limitations.
  • Fluency in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Extensive experience in market and advertising research, analysis, reporting and presentation
  • Native-level fluency in English
  • The ability to work independently
  • Marketing agency contacts/experience is a plus.

  • Google Adsense, Google Ad Manager
  • Supermetrics Data Analytics
  • Google Dynamic Tag Manager (DTM)
  • Affiliate Marketing networks (Awin, CJ, Rakuten)
  • Languages such as French and Spanish.
  • Experience in the education sector a plus.
