Alison Unveils Free “Adulting" Courses for Gen Z and Millennials

Alison, one of the world's largest free online learning platforms, today announced the official launch of its new "Adulting" Hub, a dedicated resource designed to equip young adults with essential life skills for the modern world. This comprehensive collection of free online courses aims to empower users to confidently navigate the complexities of independent adult life.

Why Modern Young Adults Need 'Adulting' Skills: Addressing Real-World Challenges

The "Adulting" Hub addresses the universal feeling of unpreparedness many experience when facing real-world challenges, a sentiment increasingly reflected in global data. Fewer than half of young people (47%) aged 18 to 24 felt ready for work when they left education, compared with 60% of over-26s, according to a July 2025 report by IPPR. Furthermore, an IPSOS report found that more than 2 in 5 young adults (42%) aged 18 to 24 are affected by depression, anxiety, or stress globally. Alison’s hub provides practical, accessible, free online certifications that aim to counter the widespread pressures experienced by Millennials and Gen Zs. Topics include financial literacy and home life management to wellbeing courses, career skills and personal development.

The courses are available in various formats, including text, video, and slides, ensuring diverse learning styles are accommodated. Users can also download the Alison App and utilise offline learning, making essential life skills accessible anytime, anywhere.

“While the term 'Adulting' may be a playful nod to life's challenges, the need for these crucial skills is very real," said Catriona Cramp, Head of Publishing at Alison. "Our vision at Alison has always been to democratise education and empower people everywhere, regardless of their age, background or financial situation. The 'Adulting' Hub is a testament to this mission, providing foundational knowledge and practical expertise that can transform lives and build a more capable global community. We believe everyone deserves the confidence to succeed.”
