Alison launches Spanish Platform in South America

Tuesday, 14th October 2025

Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tuesday, 14th Oct 2025

Alison, the world leader in Free Certified Learning for the workplace, has announced that it has launched a full copy of its award-winning global English platform in the Spanish Language. With over 50m learners and 15 million graduates worldwide, Alison is the world’s largest empowerment platform. It's an exciting development for South American nations who are facing the dual challenges of rising unemployment, especially among youth; and a widening skills gap between what employers need and what workers know.

All elements of its global English Language platform have been made available in Spanish, including the main platform, its App (With 2 million users), and its publishing toolset which allows subject matter experts in any language to submit courses for publication.

Speaking in Buenos Aires at the launch of the Spanish platform, CEO & Founder Mike Feerick stated that he was delighted to make available the full Alison platform in the Spanish language. While not all 6,000 free courses are as yet translated, many of Alison’s most popular courses, tests and assessments are available for free access. “With 500 million speakers of Spanish across the world, across South and Central America, Spain, and not least the USA, Alison’s largest market, having our offering available to such a new audience is to be hugely welcomed. While there are 1.4 billion people speaking English, it is important for global access that resources like Alison are available in local languages too, starting with Spanish, with French, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic soon to follow”.

“The translation process to Spanish over the past year has been enormously helped by the advance of AI” said Dr Tim Potenz, Head of Business Expansion at Alison who is overseeing translation and localisation initiatives at Alison. “Alison is a massive platform, and translating it and its content into any one language is a great undertaking. However, the first major language translation is almost certainly going to be the hardest, and the other language introductions should happen in a fraction of the time it took to complete the Spanish version.

In developing the Spanish platform, Alison hired a team of Spanish / English translators across South and Central America, with the biggest grouping of 15 located in Argentina. Jacinta Perez, one of the Spanish translation project leaders who is based in Buenos Aires said that “it is exciting to be part of this project; Alison is one of the world’s largest free learning resources worldwide, and while many of us who speak English have been using the platform for many years, we are always conscious of those in Spanish speaking parts of the world who are without English and are missing out in being able to take advantage of this incredible resource”.

CEO Mike Feerick is currently visiting the capital cities of South America. “Spanish is one of the world’s great languages. Extending our full services into the Spanish speaking market is an exciting milestone for us. The world of education & skills training is rapidly evolving online and everyone should have access to the learning that is being freely shared, no matter what your native or preferred language is. Alison has over 2 million registered learners in South & Central America and hopes that the new Spanish language version, to be followed shortly by the Portuguese version, will enable Alison to register a further 20 million learners in the region in the coming years.
