About the G20 EMPOWER TechEquity Platform

TechEquity, the G20 EMPOWER Digital Inclusion Platform2, is a flagship global initiative launched under India's G20 Presidency to bridge the gender digital divide and strengthen women-led development.

Recognised by Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and anchored by FICCI, under the aegis of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, the platform brings together high-quality, self-paced online courses from leading global providers across digital education, financial literacy, technical training, and core skill development.

As a collaborative effort for gender equity, TechEquity aggregates free, certified courses contributed by both public and private sector partners across multiple G20 member nations. The platform is available in over 120 languages, with built-in accessibility features to support women across diverse regions, skill levels, and learning needs.

Guided by the mission "to ensure all women have access to digital literacy," TechEquity is more than a platform - it is a global movement to build a supportive, scalable ecosystem for upskilling, reskilling, and unlocking women's full potential in the digital economy.

Why Alison x TechEquity Matters

A pioneer in the free learning movement since 2007, Alison has transformed global access to education by offering 6,000+ globally accredited diplomas and certificates across business, health, technology, entrepreneurship, soft skills, and various other categories. Its mobile-first, multilingual, and flexible platform allows individuals to earn industry-recognised credentials from anywhere, without financial barriers.

Through this partnership, Alison is contributing 500+ globally relevant, self-paced courses to the TechEquity platform, covering in-demand topics such as Al, machine learning, caregiving, mental health, business administration, and cybersecurity, and many more.

"This partnership with TechEquity reflects exactly why Alison was founded: to ensure that anyone, anywhere, regardless of background or circumstance, can access world-class learning without financial barriers. By contributing to TechEquity, we're helping expand learning opportunities for millions of women and empowering them to lead their own growth stories with confidence”, said Mr. Ciaran Cannon, Vice-President – Global Affairs at Alison and former Minister for Training and Skills, Government of Ireland.

"This partnership with Alison marks a pivotal step in our global mission through the G20 EMPOWER TechEquity Platform, to democratise access to high-quality learning. By equipping women with in-demand digital skills, we are not only bridging the digital divide but also enabling inclusive, sustainable growth on a global scale. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to building a more equitable and empowered world”, said Ms. Jyoti Vij, Director General, FICCI.

Advancing SDG 5: Gender Equality Through Scalable EdTech

This collaboration supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by making high-quality skills training available to women and girls regardless of geography, income, or access to traditional education systems.

As education systems across the globe face skill gaps and resource constraints, the Alison x TechEquity collaboration offers a replicable model for equitably transforming lives through technology-enabled learning.

Together, Alison and TechEquity are shaping a future where education is borderless, barrier-free, and boldly empowering for every woman, everywhere.
