Alison offers some Irish language training in its especially commissioned Traditional Irish Music courses. Traditional Irish Sean-nós Singing | Beginner 1 will introduce you to songs ‘as Gaeilge’ and the chance to learn from top singer Nell Ní Chróinín. Lead vocalist in the acclaimed group Danú, Nell is recognised as one of the top singers in the Irish music scene. The third singing course in the series, Traditional Irish Sean-nós Singing | Intermediate also includes songs in Nell’s native tongue. Alison’s Traditional Irish Music courses were created by Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, the face of Irish television station TG4’s live music broadcasting and Doireann mixes ‘an cúpla focal’ in Gaeilge in the course of her fiddle lessons in Traditional Irish Fiddle | Beginner 1, Traditional Irish Fiddle | Beginner 2 and Traditional Irish Fiddle | Intermediate. Other instruments in the series include guitar, flute, tin whistle, button accordion, concertina and bodhrán, the Irish drum. All the tutors are recognised experts and experienced in passing their knowledge on to others.
