RTE
Irish television production company Wildfire Films is making a series for RTÉ One called ‘Digital Citizens’, which will look at ways of encouraging people to do more with digital technology.
Wildfire are very interested in talking to people, living in Ireland, who are embracing technology for new or further education online, to find out what the benefits and rewards of this type of learning are, as well as the limitations.
They are particularly looking for people who have an interesting story, motivation or experience to share.
Have you an interesting life story, passion or ambition? Maybe you are new to the world of technology but passionately want to learn. Maybe you have found it difficult to access education – due to your location, health, financial, disability or any other personal circumstances – and are finding new hope online.
Maybe you have returned to education after a long break. Maybe you have a hobby that you want to bring into the digital age. Maybe you are house bound and technology and the internet is a way to improve your life.
In particular, they are looking for people who plan to take on something new for the purposes above, but haven't yet begun the journey or have just started.
Please send a short paragraph outlining your reasons for learning online, a bit about yourself and why this type of learning is important to you to [email protected] before 15th January.
Please note any initial contact is confidential, is only for the purposes of research and there is no commitment on either part to get involved with filming.
A researcher from Wildfire Films will contact candidates to talk further and see if they may be interested in being filmed in the New Year.
We are really looking forward to reading your inspiring stories of online learning.
