Alison sponsors a new Regional Development Manager for Co-operation Ireland in the West of Ireland

Co-operation Ireland is an all-island peace-building organisation that aims to create a shared future for the two religious and cultural traditions of both the Republic and Northern Ireland by facilitating dialogue and activities between the communities. The organisation places a particular emphasis on working with young people and marginalised communities. Alison is delighted to partner with the organisation both through the sponsorship of a new Regional Development Manager role and also through the development of an online education programme uniting schools north and south of the border.

The global empowerment platform has agreed to fund the hiring of a Regional Development Manager for Co-operation Ireland for the West of Ireland. The sponsorship, which is for a three-year period, will seed the development of a support Chapter for the North/South peace charity in the West of Ireland, and also see the development of an All-Ireland Online Schools Programme.

Speaking at the sponsorship announcement, Alison CEO/Founder Mike Feerick said that Alison was delighted to make a founding grant for the West of Ireland Chapter of Co-operation Ireland. He said that Co-operation Ireland had support Chapters established in Dublin, London, New York and Cork, and that it was important for the West of Ireland to also support the work of peace building in Ireland.  As a successful West of Ireland based business, he said Alison was happy to take the lead but hoped that other business and civic leaders would follow suit in supporting this West of Ireland initiative.

Co-operation Ireland CEO, Mr Peter Sheridan said “As Ireland’s leading peace building charity we believe building relationships across the island is vital.  The appointment of a Galway based development worker is a significant investment that I believe will help us strengthen links between people across Ireland and between Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain.  I also want to thank Mike Feerick for the assistance provided to us by Alison, without whom this expansion would not have been possible."

In addition to seeking to hire a Regional Development Manager for Co-operation Ireland in the West of Ireland (https://cooperationireland.org/recruitment-galway/), the sponsorship also involves the development of an online education programme between schools north and south. “Through the COVID period, every child north and south has become very familiar with doing classes and communicating online, and through that experience, there exists a new opportunity to connect schools, school children and teachers north and south in a way, and at a scale like never before,” said Alison’s CEO, Mike Feerick.
