What do Occupational Health and Safety Specialists do? Occupational Health and Safety Specialists are responsible for inspecting and evaluating workplaces as well as the procedures and processes at workplaces. Their job is to find ways and devise programs to avoid or mitigate any harm from diseases or injuries.

In this role, you inspect a workplace to see if it is safe for the workers. You make sure that the workplace adheres to the health and safety regulations set forth by the relevant government agencies.

A part of your job is to develop health and safety programs, and train the workers to ensure their safety at workplaces. You also identify any such activities or processes that may pose threat to the workers’ safety.
