I don't believe that mental illness is not genetic disorder. Due to the stress of the everyday life placed on people these days, the increase in mental illness has appeared in society.

a s a parent of a child with severe autism, learning difficulties and bipolar I have experience of life before meds and life after meds. My daughter was nine when she became extremely violent to everyone she came into contact with, she was highly anxious and extremely distressed - over what we do not know - she started menstruating at 9 so prob this had something todo with it. she was in real agony of some kind and she was dangerous. Life was hell. medication had been refused until we came under the care of an extremely caring paedaetrician who pushed with social workers for her to be prescribed medication. (I was fostering the child at this time but have since adopted her). since meds were got 'right' in 2012 her quality of life (an ours) has improved dramatically, she is calm, non violent, happy and smiling, able to access the community so although I do understand that medication could be abused by some, in some cases (such as ours) it is invaluable
