The human nervous system can be thought of as a series of levels. Each level is more complex than the level just below.

The cerebrum is at the highest level, the brainstem and cerebellum are at intermediate levels and the spinal cord is at the lowest level.

Each of the cerebral hemispheres tend to be dominant over the other for certain areas.

Memory is the faculty which enables people to store and retrieve facts, sensations, impressions and ideas.
