The cardiovascular system is made up of arteries and veins which act as a conduit, transporting blood and fluid around the body. The system provides the body with nutrients, hormones, and oxygen, it also removes waste products from the body such as carbon dioxide, nitrogenous waste and other substances that are harmful to the body by conveying them to the respected organs ie the lungs, liver and the kidneys for elimination.
