As a child, I have always been fascinated by storytelling. And as I grew up, I realized that this still fascinates me. Only now, it has become a conscious tool for leadership, organization and development. In all aspects of life, stories are prevalent and may always be used constructively.
I taught Sunday school for a few months and storytelling has always been a big educational tool for children. This engages them, promotes critical thinking, encourages practice of good character and helps with memorization – all these translate to an effective educational experience or experiential learning that define our daily lives.
Finally, I have always believed that a good leader is a good story teller. Basically, stories are told around the table that answers questions like, “How do we move from here?” or “Where do we go from here?” A good leader connects a story to the ‘bigger picture,’ the vision of his team and helps shape morale.
