The role of memory module is not recording my score.
hi...It didn't take the score for the topic " The Role Of Memory ".
According to research, the two hemispheres of the brain process information differently. The real power comes from combining the two hemispheres. When the right and left sides of the brain are combined, long-term learning can occur.
This model believes that the different sides of the brain handle different types of input. For instance, let's assume that there is a problem that needs to be solved. The left side would analyze the problem, and the right side would then develop the solutions. To make a decision, the left side would compare the solutions with the initial problem, and the right side would evaluate the solutions in terms of the overall situation.
In cognitive psychology, there is only one memory system, but it is divided into three functions for storage: sensory memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory.
Sensory Memory: The sensory memory retains exactly what is seen or heard. It only lasts for a few seconds, and has unlimited capacity.
Short-Term Memory (STM) - Some information moves from sensory memory to short-term memory. It is thought to be about seven bits in length, which means that people typically remember only seven items.
Long-Term Memory - Information is stored based on meaning and importance. This is a relatively permanent storage.
Miller's Magic Number
George Miller's classic 1956 study found that the amount of information that one can remember in one exposure is between five and nine items, depending on the information.
Applying a range of +2 or -2, the number 7 became known as Miller's Magic Number. In other words only 7 items can be held in Short-Term Memory at any one time.
