i always say this, there is nothing in this world that is easy nor difficult but with perseverance and hard work one can become great in whatever he or she intends doing. all the successful businessmen we know in this world never gave up when things were tough, they had hope in whatever they were doing.
can someone brief me on the accidental entrepreneur?
Many a times that one may not consider him/her self an entrepreneur. This is so because of a casual approach and understanding to ideas that one has and which can make a difference. This is why many entrepreneurs do to go in for it as entrepreneurs but discovered them selves along the way when doing or helping others.
When can one realize that he/ she is an entrepreneur?
how can an accidental entrepreneur be a real entrepreneur. He needs to be supported by capital provider.
what needs accidental entrepreneur ?
Not really wanting to make a big business Hawkins actually wanted to produce a small product and not start a company. After hesitation from being approached with other peoples money (and knowing that he really did have something that could be the next big thing for the masses) he decided that he would commit himself. He found those investors not only had $ but the also contributed some time and effort to this project and he did as well.
I guess one of the best qualities any entrepreneur has to have, no matter how they started or what qualifications they have, is to have sure confidence in themselves. Because sometimes the challenges we face needs one to have more than anything confidence. I have been there, sometimes that's what secures the deals. And Sally and John Mka are right, preparation is key.
now i understand what the topic was about..
Accidental Entrepreneur didn't intend to be one but rather a situation gave rise to the opportunity to become one.
You should know that I never really wanted to start a company and sometimes I'm an accidental entrepreneur and I had two venture capitalists who approached me and tried to convince me I ought to start a company, that they ought to be, and convinced me that I ought to accept their money, which is a good way of starting a business. I recommended highly sort of like being hard to get. You know just pretend you're not interested and they try harder. But there was a lot of truth to it. And I should tell you at that time, I really wanted to build a small product but I didn't really want to start a company. My observation of the people who started companies had miserable lives. They worked really hard, most of them end up divorced, and many of them failed, and really depressed. It just didn't work like an attractive thing to do, and so I was reluctant. And I got people who commit that they would work with me on it and that I wouldn't be alone and they'd really help and so that's how Palm get started, really. In total honesty, I was approached by people who said, "We like you. We think you've good ideas. We think you ought to be really starting a business to do this." And I thought about it for a while I said, "Okay." But I committed not to ruin my life by doing it.
