Preparing a participation rates report This task involves investigation into personal participation in a specific activity or the factors that influence participation of a group in a specific activity. Your choices are extremely wide at this stage and you need to make some decisions before you can undertake some of the research into these factors and write up your report. A suggestion could be to consider the following points when deciding what sport or activity you are going to investigate. a target group of people, (who you can give a survey to), such as a local or school sporting team (approximately 7-10 people) a participant who you can interview, and who is articulate enough to give you the information about the factors you are investigating easy access to these people and their willingness to cooperate with you in an interview or survey the facility to get the required information back quickly and efficiently You will need to develop your investigation. One way of doing this is to start with an inquiry statement and then to narrow your focus down to a recognisable group that you can investigate. See the next page for an example.
