    Intrinsic/extrinsic influences on fitness attitudes: socio-economic status Socio-economic status Studies have shown that white-collar workers are the most active. People who are sufficiently educated often have the finance, together with the motivation for physical activity. Research has shown that people who have a degree are more likely to participate in physical activity than someone leaving school in Year 10. Many blue-collar workers believe that they do sufficient physical activity during work hours. This may certainly be the case in many instances.
