Circuit training: methods
Circuit training involves performing a number of exercises in sequence.
Exercises are arranged in stages and a specific number of repetitions 
(or time) are spent on each exercise before progressing to the next
Usually there are 6-15 stations in a circuit, and you complete a number of
laps of the circuit (typically 2-3 rounds).
One lap may take 5-20 minutes. Often you have a short rest (15-20 seconds)
between stations, although you can get a good aerobic effect if you have
little to no rest, as your heart rate stays in the aerobic HR zone (70-85%
You can alter:
* the components of fitness being trained
* the type and number of exercise
* the number of repetitions (or time)
* the number of laps
* the length of recovery
All of these can be varied to increase overload, specificity and variety.
There are many different types of circuit training. Many people do timed
circuits, where they work on each station for a specific time period and
then rest for a specific time period.
Timed circuit - A person may have 10 stations in a circuit. He/she spends
30 seconds working maximally on each piece of equipment and has a rest for
30 seconds as he moves to the next station.
Individual load circuit - A person tests the number of repetitions 
he/she can complete in one minute for each station, then works as 75% of
the maximal result for the circuit.
