It is important that the training methods are relevant to the important
fitness component and that the exercises within the training methods are
specific to the sport. There is no point in doing continuous training in
the form of swimming if your goal is to compete in a running marathon.
Similarly, there is no point in doing short interval training if you wanted
to train for a marathon running event.
