    Grading for bike riding Two grades are given, indicating the ride and the surface of the track. Grade 1 Predominantly downhill - some pedalling Grade 2 Easy pedalling Grade 3 Gentle uphills Grade 4 Short steep gradients Grade 5 Long steep gradients Grade 6 Above average fitness needed to enjoy the ride Grade 7 Challenging Grade 8 Experienced cyclists only The quality of the track is graded on a scale 1-8; with the higher the number the greater the need for better tyres, the slower the travel and the more challenging the ride.
