Adventure experiences come in a huge variety of activities. What an
adventure experience is for one person can be very different for another.
Over the past 30 years, adventure activities have grown a great deal. There
is adventure sport, adventure education, adventure travel and adventure
therapy. All these types of activities take place in a range of
environments and cater for a huge variety of participants. Adventure
activities include:
* climbing - ice, mountain and rock (indoor/outdoor)
* paddling - kayaking, canoeing and liloing
* bushwalking - trekking, tramping and exploring
* orienteering - rogaining
* ski diving - parachuting, gliding, hang-gliding and paragliding
* scuba diving - exploring and fishing
* caving - climbing, exploring and orienteering
* adventure education - ropes course, initiative activities, trust
* activities and sensory trails
* bike riding - mountain bike, downhill, touring and racing
