Variety of locations

It is important that you illustrate a clear understanding of how the
adventure experience is affected by timing and location.

In Australia, for example, there is a huge variety of places were
adventure activities take place, ranging from skiing in the high plains to
scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. Location and time are
characteristics of adventure that greatly affect the adventure experience
and, in some cases, whether an adventure is possible. Think of the places
where you have had an adventure experience: did the location and time
affect the outcome? In almost all cases, the answer will be yes. Thus it is
important that in your CAT you illustrate a clear understanding of how the
adventure experience is affected by timing and location. Give personal
examples and possible historical examples, such as Kay Cottee's solo
sailing experience where weather and location had a dramatic effect on the
adventure.
