Health and Human Development - Using family and community resources to
Community resources play an important role in preventative health care and
biomedical health care of families.
Within a community there are many organisations, groups and institutions.
They are all considered as community resources, even though you may have to
pay a considerable amount of money to have access to some resources, others
are free or others are paid for through taxes. The availability of
resources varies considerably between communities, from rural towns to
rural countryside, to new developments in outer city regions through to
established suburban city communities. A family or individuals use of
resources will vary according to their knowledge of what is available to
their ability to access the resources because of money or transport (both
resources in themselves).
