Frequency and graphs - overview
In statistics there are slightly different methods to be used depending on
the type of data being studied:
* Data about named categories is referred to as nominal data, e.g. what
is the name of your favourite football team: Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds
* Data about things that have only whole number values is referred to as
discrete data, e.g. count how many people are in each car on a freeway.
Data obtained by measurement will not be just whole number values, and is
referred to as continuous data, e.g. measure the exact heights of students
(and don't round off to the nearest centimetre).
