Algebra - Algebraic notation
are used to stand for a number that can take different values (called a
variable) or whose value is unknown. Pronumerals can be added, subtracted,
multiplied and divided in much the same way as ordinary numerals, but you
usually don't end up with just a simple number as the answer.
