Intermediate Mathematics - The binomial expansion
The binomial expansion
For_ n_ a positive integer, the Binomial Theorem states
In general terms the rth coefficient is written
and represents the number of ways of choosing r objects from a total of n
The rth term in the expansion is
This formula gives the binomial coefficients seen in Pascal's Triangle
above. Your calculator will calculate the coefficients for you. However it
is wise to be able to calculate them manually as well.
