A bacterial growth measures 2 cm in diameter at the end of day one, then
doubles in size at the end of each following day. Is this sequence
arithmetic? 2, 4, 8, 16 . . .
To show that successive terms form an arithmetic sequence you must show
that there is a common difference between each successive term.
