Cumulative frequency

How much change?

Cumulative frequency

Where we are asked to calculate the median for grouped data, it is useful
to create a cumulative frequency table.

The cumulative frequency is the number of pieces of data at or below x.

Fifteen men count the change in their pockets and round the result to the
nearest dollar. The data are contained in this table. Find the median
amount of change.
