Biology - Structure of lipids
Lipids, like carbohydrates, are made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.
These atoms are joined together to form subunits called glycerol and fatty
acids. Most lipids are made up of glycerol and one, two or three fatty
acids. When these components are joined together they are called a
triglyceride if there are three fatty acids. A diagram of a triglyceride
[1] is shown below.
