Business Management - The role of the human resources manager
The role of the human resources manager
The 'people oriented' approach adopted by many human resource
departments is seen as the driving force behind the success of many
corporations. IMAGE.
In most organisations, the role of planning, organising, leading,
controlling, creating, communicating, and motivating employees has become
the sole responsibility of the Human Resource Manager. The role of the
formerly titled Personnel Manager has been extended and has moved beyond
basic data collection relating to such things as payroll, sick day
entitlements and holidays taken. The role of the HR Manager involves every
aspect of the employment cycle of each individual employee and it involves
the implementation of policies and practices designed to enhance the
performance of these employees.
HR Managers are mainly responsible for implementing change in workplace
procedures and for ensuring that employees are fully informed of the
changes and are willing and able to accept the changes being implemented.
In many organisations, this role is outsourced to external change agents or facilitators.
Management of organisations can see that their relationship with employees
is capable of giving them a competitive edge over their competitors and,
hence, an increase in their market share, if the relationship is
managed effectively.

In my opinion i feel that a democratic approach would be a better outlet when making decisions that could bring forth massive and effective change to the organization and database, due to the fact that the changes can affect them as staff and the management team! They should have a right to determine whether they are comfortable with the decision or not.
HR roles to take all the cycle area of an organization and employees to detect a full running operations as such sick leave, evaluation, and also planning and to inform employees if any changes may arise in an organization.
If human resource managers sole responsibility is managing people in an organisation, when disputes arise why is it that employees feel human resource managers tendency is towards the senior managers, and as a result seem like the enemy in resolving these issues?
Human resources are the most valuables asset to the company and must be retained, trained and developed.
HRM bridges the gap b/w management, employee, competition and customers/consumers. HRM strategizes for the organisation to achieve its organizational objectives.
