Until now, I had never heard of the Method of Loci. I find that it would be helpful in remembering where I have placed things.
yeah this is amazing
I love this course!
What is meant by loci
Its great to be able to take mental walk. Important to choose resting point, retrieval cues.
method of loci, is using your memory as in the clip the male used some of his memory but with what he struggled with he had a process to reming himself and then kept processing the one item and working the list from that one item.
Times when you have to take a mental break to rethink things
Psychology -> Memory: method of loci Method of loci Method of loci - an ancient memory aid which involves choosing a location you know extremely well, such as your home. You then take a mental walk through the location to choose various resting points along the way, e.g. the stove and the stereo. You then associate a segment of information to be remembered with a resting point. To recall the information, you take a mental walk through the various locations where each location or resting point acts as a retrieval cue.
This loci method though ancient is actualy applicable as it involves an enviroment someone has/ had a memorable experience .
Does the state of consciousness at the time of choosing the location and associating the segment of information and the time of applying this method matter?
