    in order to improve life expectancy, preventive medicine should be given high priority. access of primary health care is the key to well being and therefore a higher life expectancy.

    Emphasis ought to be placed on preventive medicine rather curative medicine. Interventions such as immunization, fluoridation of water, and improving and strengthening the health systems especially in developing countries will go a long way in registering better health outcomes. African governments, with the exception of Ssuch countries like Rwanda, South Africa need to implement the Abuja Declaration that requires them to allocate 15% of their budgets to health.

    The Live Expectancy of industrialized countries is higher than the developing countries. And with the focus on preventive measures rather than curative, life expectancy will increase. Access to socio-ecomoic factors, i.e. sanitation systems, safe water, education are the keys to well being and therefore a higher life expectancy.
