When an information system is changed, or a new system introduced, much of its success often depends on how well the users or customers accept it. There have been several recent examples of systems that have either been widely adopted or criticised as a result of acceptance by users. An example of a system not readily accepted by the public is the Business Activity Statement (BAS), an important part of the new Australian Taxation system. On the other hand, Internet-based banking has been widely adopted by many people.
