English - Act five, scene seven

Act five, scene seven

Macbeth initially loses his courage but rather than give in, fights nobly
knowing that he will be killed. Macbeth meets young Siward on the
battlefield and kills him and then continues forward looking for more
victims. Macduff says he must kill Macbeth to avenge his family. In this
final scene Macbeth is slain by Macduff after learning that he was:

'From [his] mother's womb
Untimely ript.'

The fight is off-stage and when Macduff re-enters he is carrying Macbeth's
head. Malcolm is declared King.
