Writing Skills - Opinionative writing 2

Opinionative writing 2

Listen carefully to the language of this piece which is about the
Internet.

Begin by viewing the animation above and then consider whether the
speaker has a clear opinion about the Internet? How could this be rewritten
so that a clear opinion comes across? Sometimes when people write their
opinion they are so measured and considered in what they say that their
opinion is not conveyed clearly. Their views may be lost in a series of
facts. Opinionative writing requires the writer to make their point
succinctly and with evidence to back up their views. It is not acceptable
in opinionative writing to be unreasonable. An example of being
unreasonable is: "That's my opinion and l know it's true, because l said
so!"
