Writing - Mystery stories

Mystery stories

Can you think of a plot for a mystery story after watching this
animation?

Readers of mystery stories are like detectives; they piece together
information and clues. They are also like judges weighing up the evidence
about the guilt or innocence of characters. They also meet people who they
would never normally meet in places that are exotic and dangerous. In
mysteries there is always a secret, something unexplained that needs to be
unravelled for the reader.

You should now be familiar with the basic elements of a mystery story as
well as spy stories and the characteristics of science fiction tales. In
your own writing you may choose to focus on one type of story or you might
like to combine elements of all three styles. The great science fiction
writers, as you may be aware, often incorporate elements of mystery and spy
stories. Experiment and explore!
