in this video i want to introduce what's coming up next in the course in the next few videos which is essentially a section on udemy i'm going to cover techniques and tips for how to boost engagement of your posts and of everything you do on facebook and i've compiled a list of techniques from industry research as well as things that i've done as well as things that i've seen successful facebook uh marketers do as well so you get a really good wide combination and every technique if you put it on top of every other technique of course it's going to get you very close to that thousand and beyond percent more engagement than you would have otherwise had so with that let's get started with that section.
International Facebook Traffic
and by the way most facebook traffic now it's outside the us what does that mean for us it means that if you're if you're using the english version of facebook if you're using the english language i mean um most
countries they don't have english as their first language right um so it's another point you know make things easier to consume when things are easier people who are on mobile or people whose english whose first language isn't english they're going to be able to consume your content more easily because the trends are now outside the us not english as first language and mobile so that's the trend moving forward and that's the attention you have to capture.
Current Traffic Trends on Facebook
in this video i want to tell you a little bit about the kind of traffic you get on facebook and the current trends so most traffic more than 50 is mobile what does that mean a little bit less attention span a little bit less quality writing a lot of browsing of pictures easily distracted okay most traffic is also outside united states in different languages most common demographic is 25 to 34 years old and the highest traffic in case you're thinking when should i post you post 1 to 3 p.m every day weekdays that's when people are after lunch and bored and they're looking for a little bit of entertainment so they're on facebook and because they're extra bored heading into the weekend is that's how i understand that's how that's what i extrapolate from this very high traffic tends to be on thursday and friday which is a little contradictory because typical web online traffic if you look at seo trends usually for most businesses monday tuesday wednesday are high days and then Thursday friday traffic dies down but on facebook people are looking for entertainment and so they're a little bit extra bored on thursday and friday and they're a little bit moreon facebook so if you really want to promote thursday and Fridays are great days and afternoons one two three they're also great times.
Post Topic Ideas that Get Engagement
if there are days where you really are not sure where to post and there's nothing really that's going on and you're out of ideas then here are some examples that you can sort of reuse and i'm gonna quickly run through some types of posts so i can't so the first bullet point here is the caption this you post a photo or a video that's a little bit ambiguous maybe has a little bit of emotion in there like maybe a cat or a dog making a human emotion face and then you ask people caption this or you posted some political picture of the day and usually the idea to stay away from politics but just something that people will find that it will resonate with them and then you say caption this photo for example and then people will start commenting and captioning and then f course you reply they reply more replies and more engagement and then of course this page gets to start to be seen on other people's walls after all those comments and and things like that so so that's called the caption this type of post the next are the fill in the blanks you can literally say my favorite dog breed is or my favorite animal or my my spirit animal is or my favorite month of the year is or it's endless you can have so many types of or even things in your industry like my favorite entrepreneur my favorite you know like there's a for entrepreneurs there's a show shark tank and my favorite shark is so there it's endless the numbers of variations and numbers of things that you can ask then there's like the uh you know whenever x happens i do this that's also popular and of course remember when it's kind of like a throwback nostalgic post where remember do you remember the mixtapes what did people do before the cell phones do you remember how hard life was so there's there's a ton of things you know that you can post as they remember when as long as you kind of just they think for 20 seconds and you'll remember like you'll you'll realize what's a really good remember when oldie and those are the kinds of things that always seem to work no matter what so if you're really out of ideas fall back on these.
How many Times per Day to Post on Facebook
in this video let's talk about how many times a day you should post on facebook sometimes the answer is simple but sometimes it's a little nuanced the simple answer one or two posts per day not too many more studies tend to show that after two posts per day the engagement and likes tend to tend to die down okay usually one per day is a good ballpark figure if you're just starting with your page or a group and if you really want more engagement then choose okay sometimes depending on what your business is less than one is also less than one per day is also okay if you're not really promoting hard on facebook and if you're just using facebook you know to keep up your brand up but not necessarily to crazy grow your audience now because you only get to post one or two times a day which is like a tasteful number of times don't limit your activity on facebook to that you can be a member in many other groups and pages and actually help people respond to comments like comments interact with people you can be helpful and interesting elsewhere an unlimited number of times okay so don't confuse posting with how active you can be there you can post in different groups and you can also not just reply and help people in different groups but you can make friends with the editors the moderators of those groups and see if you also can freely post and as long as you post within each group's guidelines or rules sure you should be fine and then if you if you collect many groups in which you can post you can actually post many times so you see how the initial simple answer one or two can be quite deceiving because you can actually spend all day on facebook and post up post your heart out as long as they're helpful post in different ways to different people and what i'd like to also say is when you post your posts be more interesting than promotional so maybe for every three or four or five interesting posts that educate then you can promote something and try to sell something once unless you're pure e-commerce then be more interesting i'd also suggest one out of ten posts make it maybe personal be alive be human because peop people engage with people rather than brands on facebook and so you will become a more personable entity on facebook by personal by posting personal things nothing nothing about your parties or you getting drunk but something just sharing a little bit about your life in a professional way so that's how often and what kind of things you can post on facebook.
