Facebook Personal and Business Page
Marketing from Personal Page
in this video let's talk about the pros and cons and best practices for marketing your business from your personal facebook page so first the pros and cons you're giving up your privacy that's a con some people don't mind that but keep in mind that there there's there's lasting effects i mean you're never gonna be able to separate it because people are always gonna know what you're doing if you fail in the end something doesn't go right people are gonna be all up in your business you might not want that also another potential kind is that you might just irritate some friends i mean imagine if everybody promoted their business on facebook it would be a mess and it would be very annoying so some people naturally and understandably get irritated when others promote their business on facebook now the great benefit of potentially is that your contacts are your potential best little army to help you they already know you hopefully they already like you and in the next slide i'm going to explain to you how to actually get them to engage and like you more but this can be your amazing amazing nucleus of everything you need help with everything you launch this is this can be your army of support so how do you do this you got to get people engaged and there's a little bit of a formula of you got to comment on people's posts other people's posts about their own things their cat their life their vacation comment on it and get used to you commenting on them they'll comment on your things when you post if you don't comment on other people's stuff they're not going to comment on your stuff when you post it's that simple so the one part of it is you gotta comment let's say on three to five people's posts per day let's say then a lot of people don't comment at all they're called lurkers so for those people you gotta re-ignite their relationships through private chat always just send them a chat see how they're doing don't ask for anything in return just ask you know how they're doing just catching up and if you do that to three to five people a day then okay now you're getting to six to ten people a day who you're engaging with and people you're engaging with and having this recent positivity with them they're going to be the most likely to engage with your post when you post something about your business the other thing you need to do is mention people in your posts and comments so when you whenever you make a post either in the actual post body or in the comments of the post mention some folks mention some people that this might be interesting for ask them for advice in
the comments get them engaged that way so now you're getting maybe if you do that with three to five people now you're getting nine to 15 people a day to re-engage with you and that way imagine over the course of the year that's a lot of people that are going to be you know like kind of more engaged with you more likely to look at what you're posting you're building your fans in a sense and then of course whenever you promote they'll be the army that like they'll do what you need them to do more much more likely and of course you always want to be positive open supportive on social media and you don't want to show off your wins
people like underdogs rather than people who are running away with success right because sometimes you have if you have too much success it's a little bit too much for some people they rather people's natural instinct is to root for the underdog and so you always want to come off humble and like you're just you know no matter how much success you have don't flaunt it as much as you probably like because even though it'll feel great for you it probably you know it might make some people feel bad about their life that maybe they don't have as much success and you want to be conscientious of others who are maybe not as successful as you or not doing as interesting things as you so you want to always be humble be the underdog and that's a more sure but safe way that you keep people on your side rooting for you so if you stick to all these rules and on a daily basis invest in the people then whenever you post things about your business they'll be much more likely to engage with whatever you post.
Personal Profile Privacy Settings
if you want to promote on your personal facebook page but you do want to retain some privacy of who sees your business posts or not there is a solution when you go to your profile and click on the friends tab and then you can organize your friends you see you can click on anybody and if any of my friends are watching who are here i'm not discriminating against you this is just for showing an example and here you see friends and then you can say add you can either keep them as close friends or acquaintances so first of all you can separate it by that list or you need more distinctions you can add to another list and so you can create you see right here you can create a new list and the list can be like business people like people who are cool with my business things right and then when you make an update for example so you go and you make an update and you say like hello blah blah blah and then you can say um who gets you know you can say um who is going to see this post so then you can only have a post shown to some group of people and this way you can retain the semi privacy and only show post to people that you pre chose.
How to Set Up Facebook Business Page
in this video i'm going to walk you through how to set up your facebook business page and then i'm going to walk you through how to make it look professional and engaging first of all on the left side of your just if you go to facebook.com and if you're logged in it's going to give you an option on the left side this create area and of course you're going to create a page click on create a page and you're going to choose whatever makes sense for you because i don't know what you are promoting i'm just going to pick something random and of course you choose a category you give it a name and you go get started i'm not going to get started because obviously i already have a page so i'm just going to walk you through the page that i have um when you are going to create a page they're going to walk you through a few privacy settings again the all the privacy settings they just make sense for however you want to run your group now here's the important thing to get right the very first element is this banner that people see what you want to do on this banner is you want to get the branding right get people to know your logo your company name and what your business is all about how it helps them okay that's the first thing that hits their eyes is big and keep in mind this has to be 815 pixels by 315 pixels if you don't get it that size facebook is going to either shrink it or stretch it for you and it's going to look a little off so that's the size 815 by 315 pixels the next thing people are going to see is this little logo and this little little logo is going to appear whenever you post you see in every posting you post as that logo and keep in mind that there's a little hack you can use where you can actually put your your your website name here so that people get to know oh probably emilio.com what's that and they click that so that's a little hack for that generally you want to keep them the banner and the logo you want to keep them parallel in terms of like branding and consistency here it isn't because i don't do much with this page i'm just using it as an example but if you were doing a lot of this page your page you would want them to be consistent so that people recognize when you post like oh you're the owner of this page so okay that's what you want to do there now keep in mind the size of this image when you create it it has to be 180 pixels by 180 pixels it's going to be shown at 125 by 125 but it's going to have to be created at 180 by 180. so when you tell your designer to create it that's the dimensions the very next thing that's going to make your page look great is the actual posts make sure the posts are good in content and don't you know you don't want to post too often maybe not more than once or twice a day because the the thing you want to do is get the posts to look like they are live when they have engagement as you can see on my page right now i have no likes no comments no shares no likes no comments no shares and but you can see that they go out every 30 minutes i have one hour ago and on one 22 minutes ago so mine are automated
and that's the secondary strategy that i use the the more important strategy that you want to use is keep this page well branded for yourself by making the posts look like they have engagement how do you do that you can ask your friends to vote to like and comment of course you can also pay a little bit for facebook to reach people who already like your page you see 819 people already like this page and it's cheap to re-reach them with ads and you can always run ads to reach new people later in this course or wherever that lecture appears in this course i'll show you how to use ads to collect email from people and i'll show you how to use ads to sell so using ads is is not a bad strategy in fact it's a very viable strategy and in fact you can grow your engagement through those very same ads so it's all going to kind of kind of come together and play to play well together for now just keep in mind that you do want to make sure these look lively and that over time you are growing this number people who like your page so the next thing you want to do and it's very interesting is you see how i have the shop now button and i have a few options almost like a navigation area well that's what we're going to talk about in the in the next video i'm going to explain to you how to get this very right so that you can get the best buttons to appear here as possible for your um for whatever you're trying to accomplish.
Hack to Boost Engagement in a Facebook Page
in this video i'm going to show you how to get more engagement on your facebook page posts and even though facebook prevents a lot of engagement on your pages you can increase it let me explain to you how their algorithm works their algorithm works by looking at the history of your posts and judging what the engagement level was and if it was low and if nobody engaged then the next post they gave you a little bit less exposure on the other hand if your neck if your previous post got a good amount of exp uh comments likes all that stuff then what happens is uh facebook gives you a little bit more exposure in your next post considering that your post isn't overly promotional because sometimes in promotional posts they also look for little triggers to limit limit how much how many people you reach if your post is too promotional and or too blatant and so here is what i'm going to do is i'm going to make a facebook update and the hack that i'm going to use is i'm going to use my own comments to get other people to comment and after that we're going to increase the engagement of this in reach of this post so i'm going to make a comment like uh and i'm just going to post this publish and i'm going to post this post a few comments to some friends i did i made a few comments to my friends hopefully they got engaged maybe if you're doing this maybe do this to a couple more and don't just tell them to make a comment instead engage them somehow ask them a question or something else that they're doing and you know something that's relevant to the topic of what you're posting like maybe you will ask them what do you think of a new image i'm using my website or something like that so that the conversation can be more natural and it doesn't feel like you're just blatantly using them to spam and then what happens is more people are gonna start commenting facebook is going to start showing the same message to more and more people in their feeds because the because the post is engaging and then through the history of that facebook is going to start showing more people your people who already liked your page but to whom it wasn't showing your your your comments and your updates then it's gonna start showing your new future comments and updates to more of those people and so you're gonna start getting more natural engagement and you always want to mention some people whenever you see if anybody likes it naturally then you always comment to them and you say oh thank you for liking what did you like about it or something like that don't leave and so get them to also come and get them to share really incentivize that in the in the thread and so if you if you do that that you're going to need less less updates you can you can only make like maybe maybe one update a day but make it a very good one and then make it very engaging you can also boost the post with ads but you don't even have to if you just get your friends and people who already like your page and people who this is going to get shown to because in the future updates you're going to get drawn to more and more people if all those people start commenting and liking that gives you enough to squeeze more engagement out of it get more conversation out of it and then facebook is going to see oh you got more engagement on your posts it's going to start showing your posts to more and more
people hence you'll be getting even more engagement and it will be a little bit of a snowball effect.
Star Rating on Facebook Business Page
in this video i'm going to show you a feature of facebook business pages that's not often talked about but can make a nice difference and that's the star rating you can you can have a star rating this is actually a facebook business page of one of the designers that i used and i left them a nice review so right away you see and they're collecting reviews so they asked a few people and see they have a very nice five-star review it stands out on their profile at least if it doesn't stand out to some people's eyes at least it's a nice thing to have the five stars and you can just ask people who are your clients or whoever for reviews and you can see that i reviewed it and i wrote a nice review and other people just left ratings and you can generally see what people are you can generally see what people are writing in these so if he wants to get other people to leave you review so that your page looks good here's how you do it to show you how to do it i'm actually visiting my own pro my own facebook page from a secondary profile just to give you an example and you see when you scroll a little bit you see it's not particularly obvious but here you can just leave the rating and write a review so it's in the feed as you scroll you can leave a rating and so that way other people when they read comments about this page or this business they will see the nice reviews and that's going to get them to be more likely to trust the business and to engage with the business so this just increases your engagement and sales percentage a little bit.
