Maxam Gilbert DNA sequencing method:

Purely a chemical method, which means no enzyme is involved.
A destructive process, in which the target DNA strand is broken up in a controlled manner.
Requires four different chemical treatments using four vials

DNA Chemistry:
The average molar mass of a DNA monomer is approximately 330 gram per mole.
Selective radioactive labeling of DNA in the presence of RNA can be achieved with the dTTP32 monomer.
Compared to RNA, DNA is found to be more stable when treated with concentrated NaOH.
It is difficult to crystallize DNA to study its structure; however, Selenium facilitates DNA crystal formation.
Compared to an aqueous medium, a lipid medium would be favorable to a protein structure alpha-helix formation.
