    We don't have a policy on health and safety

    This is not about the company but about about the policies guiding employees safety and health. To me, i have to refer him to see doctor and base on doctor's advice then necessary action can be taking by the management.

    In my country, generally, policies on safety does not work. it is a general problem. Stress is regarded as part of work so management knows little about the law .

    I would immediately send the worker to the infirmary to be quickly assisted by the certified doctor or nurse on site, As a manager my responsibility is to ensure people that are under my care are well, even if they take the blame that can be addressed later on as an opportunity to improve, but first and foremost always keep safety protocol as first priority. By doing so we are protecting the workers health and fast recovery, reducing the need to sue the company for lack of responsibility towards the situation and of course taking this incident already recorded and notify Human Resources, where an investigation will take place, and to prevent this from happening again HR will successfully create training's and safety guidelines for all existent and future employees.
