Physical Education - Key points
* You must have some knowledge of the factors, which influence initial
and continued participation, so that you can analyse them. You will need to
have conducted some and collected some primary and secondary data to allow
you to do this. You should have a list of factors that you have identified
and some analysis and discussion of what each one means and the relative
importance of each factor for that individual or group, for that particular
* Identify and explain the personal motivation individuals have for
participation in an activity. Make a clear distinction in your explanation
of how these factors may vary between individuals and how they influence
the way a person some one started an activity and also how they influence
their continuing with an activity. That is, what do they get out of it?
* From your analysis and discussion of the factors, identify some of the
implications of your findings. That is, what does the research reveal are
the key factors, and what does this mean in broad terms for the activity.
What trends are evident that could be used to develop strategies by
sporting associations governments, local councils or communities to
encourage and develop further participation in this activity?
Alternatively, what strategies can be used to encourage continuing
participation in this activity.
