    Cardio-respiratory endurance Cardio-respiratory endurance is vital in distance running. Cardio-respiratory endurance is vital in distance running. Cardio-respiratory endurance, also known as: aerobic capacity aerobic power aerobic endurance Definition: Aerobic means"with oxygen"and refers to the ability of the heart, lungs and blood vessels to deliver oxygen to the muscles and remove waste products (CO2). This is one way the body can provide energy to the working muscles. Uses: any activity that is sustained and uses the whole body at a sub maximal level is relying on this fitness component when your body is at rest, the energy to keep the body working is supplied by this system when your body has been working very hard, the recovery mechanisms involve the aerobic system
