The concept of capacity planning is similar to the concept of organisational development ,organisational effectiveness and or organisational performance management. Capacity planning is a goal based strategic planning. This includes developing a vision (usually quite ambitious) about a future state and then works backwards to identify what goals are needed to achieving the vision. Identify specific approaches that must be adopted or implemented to reach each goal.
