Maternal mortality: Every day in 2010, about 800 women died due to complications of pregnancy and child birth, including severe bleeding after childbirth, infections, hypertensive disorders, and unsafe abortions. Out of the 800, 440 deaths occurred in sub-Saharan Africa and 230 in Southern Asia, compared to five in high-income countries. The risk of a woman in a developing country dying from a pregnancy-related cause during her lifetime is about 25 times higher compared to a woman living in a developed country. Maternal mortality is a health indicator that shows very wide gaps between rich and poor, both between countries and within them.

women health is fundamental to any country well being, the better health programmes adress the needs of women, less women will be affected by diseases, mother and children mortality would be reduced world wide, so better policies targeting women and better education would help empower them to access health related services.

health care in women Health care in women The main causes of morbidity [1] in industrialised countries are heart disease, stroke and cancer. In developing countries, these diseases will become more prevalent as the western lifestyle and their accompanying risk factors of smoking, diets high in fat and lack of exercise are adopted. The poor health of women compared to men in developing countries can be attributed to women's limited access to education, limited availability of and access to health care and to a lower socioeconomic status.
