Health and Human Development - High fat intake
High fat intake
Physical activity uses up extra energy which would otherwise be
converted to fat and stored in the body
Excess saturated fats, carbohydrates, alcohol and proteins, are all
converted to fat. Energy produced from the food consumed is used by the
body for basal metabolism [1], physical activity and a small amount for the
specific dynamic action of food. When too much food is consumed, the
individual can increase their physical activity to use up this extra
energy, or it will be converted to fat and stored in the body. A small
excess every day will add up over a year, unless the extra energy is used
up. To maintain good health, adults should balance energy intake with
energy output.

Actually Do We do that?
We as students have just read too much of anything incoming through our eating habits can and will be converted to FAT. prior to this we eat and create energy determined by our internal process called the Basal Metabolism. What is this Basal Metabolism? " the minimum amount of energy required to maintain vital functions in an organism at complete rest, measured by the Basal Metabolic rate in a fasting individual". In other words what comes in must come out, either through energy created and burned, or if not burned off it becomes fat and stored in your body creating weight gain.
How come my best friend eats the exact same things as me, and we both sit around and do homework together. On weekends her parents and family go hiking. On weekends I sleep all day. We're both in high school and both 16. She is cute and energetic. I'm ok, tired, and feel hopeless. I do not understand why she is so positive and I have low self esteem.
diet and weight generally go hand to hand, healthy diet helps to maintain healthy weight, exess food intake increase the risk of develepoing certin health condition. high blood pressure, abnormal blood fat, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoarthritis, gallstone, sleep apnea, many type of cancer
physical activity uses up extra energy which would otherwise be converted to fat and stored in the body.
people gain weight because they eat too much food containing a lot of fats and sugar, and do not use the calories gained from food.in this case energy intake is higher than energy expenditure and it is called appositive energy balance state. When appositive energy balance state goes on for a prolonged period of time, people become obese.
obesity often cause a lot of other conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Physical activity such as walking, yoga, and tai-chi or exercises like running, swimming, and dancing, has been shown to be beneficial for improving these health conditions.
Regular exercise can help some people use more calories to create a negative energy balance state (energy > energy intake ) and eventually lose weight and improve type 2 diabetes. however, we still don't know how exercises dose this.
for better health, adults should balance their energy intake with energy output.
