    Daydreaming is a persons way of escape or dealing with things as well as getting a " power nap " from not getting sleep for whatever reason.

    Daydreams are another example of lowered awareness. Daydreaming involves drifting off into a world of fantasy. Although awake, the person experiences a reduced awareness of external stimuli. Daydreaming usually occurs while the person is engaged in automatic processes where minimal attention to the task is required. Daydreaming is often considered as a waste of time however, psychologists maintain that daydreaming can serve a variety of useful functions.     Day dreaming takes the mind to a pleasent alternative to what ever the brain is trained on at the time.

    While most daydreaming usually occurs while the person is engaged in automatic processes where minimal attention to the task is required. Other daydreaming occurs where sometimes the task at hand may not be engaging at all, i.e. school subjects or a monotonous job.
