The key points from this module are:
A simple, cute, and appealing character should have the following:

A clear silhouettes
Simple shapes
Not too complex to draw
Exaggerated proportions

A breakdown drawing shows you how to get from one keyframe to the next. Not necessarily right in the middle of both keys and there can be more than one breakdown.
Easing out and easing in between all keys adds cushion (soften each action).
A pop is when the animation lacks any easing, making the action look hard and abrupt.
Favouring a drawing/frame means to make an inbetween drawing before or after a keyframe so that it almost resembles the key that you are easing into or out of. It also helps prevent pops from happening.
Hit "+" on the left of the timeline above the animation layer to colour card then in node view, hit the yellow square to access the properties for more colours for your background.
The "Close gap tool" is used to close lines when colour bleed.
